Dog is man's best friend, but a poodle is everyone's friend.

Poodles as we know them today have been around for hundreds of years. They became extremely popular in France and Germany where they were and are still used as hunting dogs. They were never a hardworking farm type breed, but the poodle is still a very high energy and hardworking dog. Poodles are used as service dogs, hunting dogs, therapy dogs, and even truffle hunters (Reisen, Jan)! 

Poodles are so smart and versatile. There are so many different versions of poodles, like the goldendoodle, labradoodle, bernadoodle, etc. All of these breeds are great because they keep the basic poodle principles while also adding in new fun elements. Not to mention that almost every poodle and doodle breed is hypoallergenic. Meaning they do not shed! 

Poodles can be trained to do many things. However, they do need to be trained in some way. They are so smart that if their brains are not put to use they will turn to getting into mischief. Speaking from personal experience when a poodle gets bored they will tear up shoes, clothes, or whatever else they get ahold of. It is vital for them to be trained and to get plenty of exercise every day. They love games like fetch and chase, adding in a few toys around the house helps too. 

Poodles are a great choice for just about any family! They are love bugs, smart, energetic, and so fun to be around. They are a classic dog that never goes out of style.
